Czech Embassy in Jakarta Celebrates the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Jakarta held a ceremonial reception on November 8, 2024, in celebration of the national holiday on October 28 – the Day of the Establishment of the Independent Czechoslovak State. His Excellency Mr. Jaroslav Doleček and Mrs. Magdalena Dolečková introduced guests to an opportunity for celebration and cultural enrichment. This year’s celebration offered guests an extraordinary cultural experience in the form of an exclusive fashion show by the renowned Czech designer Beata Rajská.

Opening of the Reception
The festive evening began with a joint performance of the national anthems of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Indonesia. This was followed by an inspiring speech from the Czech Ambassador to Indonesia, His Excellency Mr. Jaroslav Doleček, who emphasized the importance of Czech-Indonesian relations and highlighted the significance of this historical anniversary.
A significant honor for the Czech Embassy was the attendance of the Chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), His Excellency Mr. Sultan B. Najamudin, who, in his speech, underscored the importance of mutual cooperation between the two countries. Among the distinguished guests was also the head of the Indonesian National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), His Excellency Mr. Rachmat Pambudy, whose presence underscored the importance of Czech-Indonesian partnership.
The reception was also attended by members of the diplomatic corps, high-ranking state officials, ambassadors from allied countries, and other notable figures from Indonesian public life.
Fashion Show as the Highlight of the Evening
The highlight of the festive evening was the prestigious fashion show by the renowned Czech designer Beata Rajská. Her latest collection, which combines elegance with modern trends, brought a piece of Czech design to the heart of Jakarta. The show presented exceptional models that merge traditional Czech tailoring with contemporary global design. Guests had a unique opportunity to experience a showcase of top European fashion, reaffirming the Czech Republic’s status as a country with a rich creative tradition and an innovative approach to fashion design.
Connecting Czech and Indonesian Culture
The ceremonial reception became a significant social event that not only dignified the establishment of the independent Czechoslovak state but also contributed to strengthening cultural ties between the Czech Republic and Indonesia. The fashion show received great acclaim among the attendees and documented the growing interest in Czech culture and art in Indonesia.
Among the significant supporters of the event was the non-profit organization Bohemindo, which has long contributed to the development of relations between the Czech Republic and Indonesia. Bohemindo’s participation as one of the sponsors of the event highlighted the importance of civil society in the development of international relations and cultural diplomacy.

The reception was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, diplomats, guests from Indonesian government institutions, the business sector, and cultural life, as well as Czech expatriates and entrepreneurs living in Jakarta. The event thus contributed to strengthening Czech-Indonesian relations and presenting the Czech Republic as a modern country with a rich cultural tradition.
